How do you tell if the parabola is opening up or down from the quadratic equation?

On option is the plot some points to get a feel of what the parabola looks like.

Alternatively, if the equation is in the form y = ax² + bx + c, then the parabola will open UP if a > 0, and it will open DOWN if a < 0

Hi Mr Hanneson,

also I encountered Graphing Circle and Graphs of Functions. do these topics come in GRE. Considering we have the official guide which is Indian Edition ( for countries India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan).

Graphs of circles and function transformations are in the GRE syllabus, I have yet to see an official (GRE-style) question that tests this concept.
