Lesson: Common Roots

Comment on Common Roots

Word Power Made Easy, by Norman Lewis, is one of the best, if we want to learn etymology.
For 'proscribe,' he has given a story, earlier in Greek, whoever does bad stuff or anti social deeds, their names were written on placards and posted in society to avoid them.
they were writing it before they do any bad stuffs, so "Pre or Pro" and since writing "scribe".
So doctors also write prescription in which they list what all need to be avoided.

Fantastic

If Norman Lewis is completed then also do I need to memorize all the words?

Yes. You still need to know all of the definitions.
