Question: Saga

Comment on Saga

Hello Sir,

First i thought of Byzantine but later, I thought the third blank should be presumptuous ( as it means extreme boldness). Now I thought this because of the relationship word "fearsome" and descriptive phrase " Don't seem fearsome at all. If you are extremely bold after lying then you wont seem fearsome of the consequences. I understand the context you have explained. But please clarify my doubt as why presumptuous is a wrong selection.

While the PERSON telling the lie might be bold, it's important to note that the third blank doesn't describe a person; it describes the SAGA. Since "presumptuous" is a word that describes only people (those who presume), we cannot use it to describe an non-human entity (like a saga).

Does that help?

Cheers,
Brent
