Hello Sir,
First i thought of Byzantine but later, I thought the third blank should be presumptuous ( as it means extreme boldness). Now I thought this because of the relationship word "fearsome" and descriptive phrase " Don't seem fearsome at all. If you are extremely bold after lying then you wont seem fearsome of the consequences. I understand the context you have explained. But please clarify my doubt as why presumptuous is a wrong selection.
